.___________________________________ LEGAL NOTICE ____________________________________ ELECTION PROCLAMATION Pursuant to a Resolution duly adopted by the governing body of the City of Ada, Oklahoma, the undersigned Mayor of said City hereby calls an election to be held in said City on the 10th day of January, 2017, for the purpose of submitting to all of the registered qualified electors residing within said City the following propositions: PROPOSITION 1 (Streets and Alleys, Water System, and Sewer System) Shall Ordinance No. 16-22, approved by the City Council of the City of Ada, Oklahoma, which levies and assesses a city excise tax of three-fourths (3/4) of one percent (1%), upon the gross proceeds or gross receipts derived from all sales to any person taxable under the Oklahoma Sales Tax Code or taxable under Sections 66-31 through 66-56, inclusive, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ada, Oklahoma, providing that the revenues derived from such tax shall be used for the purpose of making capital improvements to the streets and alleys, water system, and sewer system of the city; with all expenditures to be audited on an annual basis; providing that such tax shall be effective on May 1, 2018, with such tax levy to terminate on April 30, 2023; be approved? PROPOSITION 2 (Ada Economic Development) Shall Ordinance No. 16-23, approved by the City Council of the City of Ada, Oklahoma, which levies and assesses a city excise tax of one-fourth (1/4) of one percent (1%), upon the gross proceeds or gross receipts derived from all sales to any person taxable under the Oklahoma Sales Tax Code or taxable under Sections 66-31 through 66-56, inclusive, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ada, Oklahoma, providing that the revenues derived from such tax shall be transferred to the Ada Public Works Authority to be used to create new jobs and retain existing jobs in the Ada area, by providing funds for economic development of the Ada area, including, but not limited to, creating new jobs by attracting new businesses to the Ada area, retaining existing jobs and creating additional jobs by the expansion of existing businesses, facilitating the building of new business facilities and the expansion of existing business facilities, and contracting with public trust authorities, non-profit corporations or foundations to obtain assistance in accomplishing economic development and expansion of the Ada area; with all expenditures to be audited on an annual basis; providing that such tax shall be effective on May 1, 2018, with such tax levy to terminate on April 30, 2023; be approved? The polling places for said special election shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock a.m. and shall remain open until, and be closed at 7:00 o'clock p.m., on said day. All registered qualified electors residing within the corporate limits of said City, shall be entitled to vote on the foregoing propositions at said election DATED AND ISSUED this 7th day of November, 2016.
